29 years old... looking at a Street Glide...

RE: 29 years old... looking at a Street Glide...
I'm 33, traded up from a Vrod to a Street Glide. Put tons of cash into the Vrod customizing etc.. but I bought a bike to ride, and I just didn't enjoy touring on the Vrod as much as I would have hoped. It looked cool, it was fast, but that was about it. If I could afford to keep both, I would have. For now, I got an 08 SG.. love it, and continue to put tons of effortless miles on it. I will be taking a 1400 mile trip in July. Over time, I will work on some mods for the SG but for now I enjoy it the way it is. I am short, so I have a reduced reach seat and I am installing the front lowering springs next week.

u can do the entire stereo install (custom) for about $5 - $600 go blue tooth however I would still look for a used SG that somebody put a ton of $$$ in\\; you will be ahead of the game \\; \\; \\;
ORIGINAL: Bradley Jones
I also am younger (25) and I want a SG but moneys tight. I was wondering if I would be sacrificing a lot by buying a Electra Glide Standard? Is it real hard to put a radio in one of those?

I was 29 when I got my Streetglide 1 year ago in June.
 \\;
17k Miles later. \\; I glad I did.
 \\;
I upgraded with a Pioneer Deck, \\;Alpine amp, Alpine Type R 5.25 and 2 6x9s. \\; I thinks it TOO loud!!! \\; LOVE IT.
 \\;
Honestly I can't imagine riding w/o music anymore.
 \\;
Get the Glide!

Hey Geo Hunt if you wanna ride buy the Street Glide im 27 and just got my SG in the middle of march. Ive got almost 4000 miles on it. I wish i would have bought a bagger 10 yrs ago when i started to ride but now 3 sport bikes and a hard tail bobber (that does nothing but sit in the garage now) later i got some sence.

And just to add the speakers sound good at low speeds only and make sure you riding buddies are behind you if not their exhuast will drown them out. Found that out on an 7 hour trip at 80 mph.

There are so many advantages to a young guy riding a Harley Street Glide. They are safer than sport bikes, much more comfortable, and much more cool. Also women will love the ride on a Harley. Girls on the back of a sport bike look like a pumpkin on a fence post.
