Default Auxiliary Audio - thru the Radio

I am using the radio auxiliary audio connection for my ZUMO so I can hear directions and mp3 music using my headset in my helmet.
I just yesterday loaded up some tunes on the Zumo (mp3) and listened using the aux connection thru my headset. The result was very tinny and a little scratchy ...
Is that normal?
When I play music thru the radio or CD, it is clear as a bell (and not tinny).

I've heard that different mp3 player's will give different sounds. I work in the semiconductor industry and I will tell you that you do get what you pay for in electronics. Yes, there are decent devices that aren't going to break the bank, but there are some drawbacks. I know Zumo's are supposed to be good and I honestly don't know much about them.
&nbsp\\;
I just loaded some cruizing tunes on a cheap mp3 player last night to have my own tunes going to ROT this weekend. Some songs sound better than other's. It could be the recording itself also.......

I tried the zumo in the aux input of the radio using an SD card for mp3's and the quality was fine through the speakers - it just wasnt as loud as an mp3 CD of the same music. So I went back to the CD - easier to run with the handlebar controls, and I got tired of the music being cut out when directions were given. So now I just read the directions on the zumo.

Check your Z. The MP3 volume is set to 70 percent by default. Crank it up to 100 percent.

I had rather read the directions and keep my music flowing. The directions plus the white arrow are plenty large enough for me and I am half blind.&nbsp\\; I aint going to go thru all the bluetooth crap, just to hear Jill tell me to turn right or turn left. Just my .02 worth.....Bldr

More then likely the problem is with the headset. I tried listening to music through mine and had the same results. Got rid of the headset

Turn up the volume on the Zume all the way. Also if it has an EQ built in that you can adjust, put all the levels at flat. It uses power that would otherwise be used for the output.
