Default What the hell is wrong with my front brake?

I had the front tire replaced last week on my '06 RK Classic (21K miles).&nbsp\\; When I picked it up, there was no front brake\\; the lever pulled all the way to the throttle grip.&nbsp\\; I took it back the shop (not a HD dealer) and told them they must have left air in the line.&nbsp\\; They bled the line (many times) and could not get proper brake&nbsp\\;lever action back.&nbsp\\; They dismantled the calipers, removed the pistons and reinstalled, and got the same results.&nbsp\\; There is not sign of oil leaking and he said the pistons, etc. looked very clean, no scoring or scratching.&nbsp\\; He decided to install a complete seal kit and thought he fixed it.&nbsp\\; I picked up the bike and rode it but it's still the same.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
If the bike is not moving, you can pump the brake lever and it will grab after the 2nd or 3rd pump.&nbsp\\; Once the bike starts rolling, the lever action will go all the way to the grip.&nbsp\\; The brake was working fine before I took it in.&nbsp\\; They can't figure it out and I can't understand how just by removing the wheel,&nbsp\\;why the front brake would stop working...???
&nbsp\\;
I don't think the rotors are warped but I havn't physically checked either.&nbsp\\; Any ideas out there????

Air in line. It sometimes takes alot of work to get all the air out.&nbsp\\;

The shop must have broke the line(s) loose and air got in there.If it was fine before,they did it.
There are a few suggestions on bleeding the front brakes here if you do search.

Air in line or master cylinder. I'd be more inclined to believe master cylinder if they checked everything else. Probably just coincidence, since there's no reason to break the lines loose to change a front tire.

A warped rotor would not cause loss of brakes. Sometimes non-HD mechanics are not that cheap or good.

Very true, Rick51, but in my case, I found an indy that's wayyy better than my local stealer. Always good to find an honest, competent shop and stick with them.

As suggested, do a search here on brake bleeding. You will find a link to another forum with reverse bleeding setup that worked great on my 07 rk when I replaced my lines withbraided lines. Here's the link...good luck.&nbsp\\; http://www.moccsplace.com/images/bra...er/bleeder.htm
