A hot day at Americade!&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Mid 90's and my wife and I now have well-done drumsticks!

We got back to the hotel and I put in an order for a set of RJ's Originals.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;Hope they work as advertised!

Question:
&nbsp\\;is most of thet heat coming off the motor? or the crossover pipe?
I was planning on 2:1's down the road, so I don't know whether going to them&nbsp\\;will significantly&nbsp\\;reduce the heat problem

Coming from rear cylinder and rear exhaust!
&nbsp\\;
Shields will work regardless of what exhaust\\; though most benefit with stock headers.&nbsp\\; EXIDs will&nbsp\\;greatly&nbsp\\;improve&nbsp\\;the problems with minimum investment.
&nbsp\\;
Even with custom exhaust, a competent dyno tune will be needed to eliminate the offensive heat.

I agree, it's a really well made product.

I'm sending mine back though. If you have the adjustable backrest, it's very difficult to get to ii with the Rj's installed.
Web site says easy accesses, but am here to tell you it's not easy.

If I didn't have the adj back rest, these would be perfect.

Is anyone using the Kuryakin (sp?) heat shields? Do they work well? They are'nt as exspensive as RJ's.

Tough to keep the heat down from the engine in these temps!
&nbsp\\;
Try going to Synthetic Oil in the engine. It will help lower the temp. Best suggestion is to get new pipes and PCIII or SERT.

I did a 230 ride yesterday in 90+ heat and I proved that everyone was right about the heat from the stock bikes being too much. Man was I hot. I just got done ordering RJ's and can't wait to get them.
