RE: Gear for trips
A trick is to pack a day or two of underware and t's in a gal. ziploc bag and then you have dry stuff and don't have to tear everything out to get each item. \\; A must for cold weather is a ski neck gator and Hot Pepper or underarmour long johns and keep your hands and feet dry in the rain. \\; There are laundrymats y no so you don't have to take 2 weeks worth of stuff.

Yes - disposable clothes - best idea I ever implemented, \\; \\;Jeans take up a lot of room, but when you throw them out \\;after wearing them for 3 days on the road, all kinds of room appears to pack all the crap I buy along the way! \\;  \\;trick is to not get rid of old clothes during the year, save them for the bike trips. \\; Funniest memory is loading the bike in a hotel parking lot somewhere in Utah and the hotel maid running out to the parking lot with my dirty underwear waving in the air screaming "SIR SIR YOU FORGOT THESE SIR SIR YOU FORGOT THESE!" \\; I yelled back "KEEP 'EM, IT"S YOUR TIP!" \\; \\;
 \\;
Not sure if these were on the previous lists but I pack a full set of cables - they coil up and fit in the bottom of the tour pak and take up next to \\;no room. \\; I was with a buddy heading to Sturgis in '99 \\;when he popped a throttle cable - 3 HD dealers before we found one with cable in stock. \\; I popped a Speedo cable once, pulled into a parking lot, swapped it out for a new one, and back on the road. \\;  \\;
