I did it that way on my 08 RKC. \\; There were two unused wires up there and I just hooked in. \\; You should have enough power there since the Zumo uses so little power. \\; Just go find the wire to the headlights and make sure it's powered in both high and low beam. \\; Fishing wires under the tank is a pain.

There should be an unused wire in there that accepts a spade terminal. \\; It's for the fender tip light that is not installed on the RK Classic. \\; That's what I used for power for my GPS. \\; It's a switched circuit, also works with the main switch turned to accessory.

Not too big? \\;\\\\\\; I'm not sure but the size I needed was in the terminal assortment I had at home.
