Default Mustang seat question?

What is the seating position of the Mustang seat (75449) Does it put you closer to the tank?, further back?, or about the same as stock seat. And do you sit higher, lower, or about the same? My buddy has a Mustang seat on his Springer Classic, and it seems to put you closer to the tank. I don't want that. Responses from any Mustang owners is appreciated. Thanks.

I have a mustang regal on my EG.&nbsp\\; That is the pillow top style.
Compaired to a stock pillow top HD seat.
[ul][*]Sits up 3/4 -1 higher initially.&nbsp\\; After a couple hundered miles or so the seat will "settle" and get back to about the same height as a stock seat.[*]A bit wider than stock...rider and passenger area.&nbsp\\; Maybe 1 inch each[*]I feel no closer to the tank than a stock seat.&nbsp\\; The horn on the mustang is made differently...a bit more narrow to allow putting your feet on the ground easier.[*]The seat will initially fell hard as compaired to the HD seat.&nbsp\\; This is normal.&nbsp\\; The material used is different than a HD seat.&nbsp\\; You will notice the difference right away.&nbsp\\; The mustang seat is at least twice the seight of the HD seat.&nbsp\\; Not saying it is heavy, but a substancial difference due to the innner materials used.

More than likely it will not be the same as the stock seat.
The Regal Ultra Touring 75537 I installed on mine,rasied the height up about an inch and forward about an inch.With about 3-4000 miles on it,it has settled in.It is still a little higher&nbsp\\;than stock and a little forward but is way more comfortable than than the stock seat.

Thanks, keep 'em coming. I'm looking for info overload. I want to find out all I can before buying a seat.

IMHO...
If I had the extra $$$ I would have gotten a RoadSofa or Day long seat.&nbsp\\; Not saying the Mustang is not a good seat...it is much more comfortable than a stock HD seat.
The other tow mentioned are custom made.&nbsp\\; You send your height/weight etc and they build a seat for your bike. I cant remembe off hand but one of them has inner springs similar to a car seat...not just a ton of foam and gel.&nbsp\\; So on an engineering stand point the seat will sit better and last longer. But the downside the seats are close to 1000$ delivered.&nbsp\\; I got my mustang for around 350$ new off ebay...i cant remember the vendor...American Classic...i think...so you see why I got the mustang.&nbsp\\;
Now, dont think i am attempting to discourage you from getting a mustang...they ARE GREAT SEATS....hands down better than stock and the price is great.&nbsp\\; But..always has to be a but...if you have the $$$ go with a custom one.&nbsp\\; Especially if you do as much touring as I do...I ride 15000-20000 a year.&nbsp\\; Almost twice the miles on my bike per year than on my auto.
If i ever have to replace the mustang i will more than likely get Day-Long

I would agree with John, I also have the regal and after a little riding it has settled in and is about the same location as the stock with MUCH more comfort on long trips.

Buy the Mustang and ride it for a week or two and you won't have any more questions.&nbsp\\; The issue is it's "different" than your stock seat, so you naturally are averse to it.&nbsp\\; As soon as you ride it for a few gas tanks, you will forget why you were asking.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;

Have an 07 FLSTN- Softail Deluxe in other words.&nbsp\\; Put a Mustang with backrest on her...seemed to push me a bit closer to the tank (I think due to the curvature of the seat itself at the rear, more 90 degree ish up), but the more comfortable ride is worth it.&nbsp\\; Make sure you find the one best for you...narrow or wide.&nbsp\\;I am just now going from narrow to wide, a couple extra inches, after seeing one on another scooter.

I've spoken w/ Mustang Employees, and they claimstock height, but about 1 inch closer.&nbsp\\; Many riders w/ them confirm that info...
