Default streetglide exhaust

Hello, i'm new to the site and i am sure there have been about a billion threads but i have a question on exhaust for the street glide. i will be picking up my new one in a couple weeks and want to change out the stock exhaust. does anyone have any suggestions on what to go with. i have looked at the bassani and the V&H. i have an 01 night train with samson street sweepers. i don't necessarily need anything that loud, but i still want good sound. i don't plan any other mods right away with the exception of an air cleaner/re-map. any suggestions would be great. thanks.

Yo Yo...welcome. Anyhow, in my opinion, if you are going to go with little to no mods right now, but don't mind spending a fair amount of money on the exhaust, I would go for a true dual system. There are a couple of good manufacturers out there and not only does it clean up the look of the ride, but in my opinion it will run just that much better. I welcome other opinions for sure, I am just speaking from experience. If you are looking for moderate noise but still an ear catcher, I know that Rineharts are pretty mean. Later

Welcome aboard.

I have and like V&H Oval slip-ons. They are connected to Bassani Power Curve headers. I think all the true duals help with the exhaust note. Some have tuned rear pipes and some need dyno tuning to work effectively as stock replacements. With stock headers most of the exhaust goes out the right side, therefore sounding louder on the right. True duals even the sound on both sides.

I will only recommend these (see below) and I have checked out ALL the competition. Firmly believe they are the best TRUE DUAL on the market, period. Performance, styling, engineering, quality and great sound, with NO CLAMPS. What more could you ask for? Awesome pipes!

Well I was in the same boat with my new 06 FLTRI, so I went with the HD SE Active Performance system. I was a bit more $$$, but it retained the 2 yr warranty, and is 50 state street legal. I like the sound, not too loud, but a noticable difference from stock.
I had the TD Bassani PC system on my 02 SERK, and liked it, but I had to spend way too much $$$ to get it to run right. PC lllr + tune time. I had a set of Thundercones, then went to the Bassani 2" core straight cuts, I liked that sound and performance the best.

There are so many to choose from. I talked with the mechanics at the shop where I have the bike serviced and followed that advice. I also listened to, and looked at all that I could. In the end it comes down to which one you like the best.

Thanks for the info everyone. i am thinking of the V&H true duals with the slip on mufflers. But I know i have time yet because as always i will take delivery of the bike and we will get some late march freak storm to drop 2 feet of snow and all i will get is to drive around the garage. thanks again.

I went with the V&H true duals, w\ovals, Stage 1, and SERT. Nice set up. also check out the Dyno thread up top and you will get some numbers on different systems. You also want to consider if your looking for top performance a 2 into 1 system is probly the best setup. IMO.

I've got Caliber true duels. I like the exhaust and the bike seems to run great. PCIII with canned map, SE stage I.
