Default ULtra TourPak Detach

Considering a new Ultra. Would like to have the option of easily removing the TourPak. Can you install a detachable option? How much would it cost? Is it easy to take off and put on? Appreciate your feedback.

Been done by probably 70% of the people on this forum who own Ultra Classic's. There are several threads on this topic. It will cost you $300-350 (parts) depending on where you buy the kit. I added the kit to my '03 Ultra Classic and installed it myself. It made a huge difference being able to easily remove the Tourpack and put it back on when needed. It's like having 2 bikes in one.

Why would you wanna do that? You are buying an Ultra Classic because it IS an Ultra Classic!!!!!

Soos,

My guess is you don't ride an Ultra. The only answer I can give you is because you can. Every single Ultra owner that I know or ride with has done the quick release. It just makes it more convenient that's all. Me for example, my wife will not ride. So it's nice to take the pack off when I'm not going on long trips. The bike is lighter and easier to handle without the Tourpack on. I like the bike either way and I must say having the Tour Pack means I usually end up carrying more useless crap with me everywhere I go.
