While out on a trip to Oxford, AL from WA State, this trip my 07' Ultra Classic needed a few things fixed. It started just before I was heading into Fort Worth/Dallas area. Bike started to run a little rough and would pop now and then. Knowing I was stopping for my 55,000 mile service I rode it into a buddies place I was staying at. Next day the dealer found the Exhaust pipe Assy cracked all the way around. The trip reset button stopped working also. Both items were replaced under warranty.

On the way back from AL near Houston I notice the Oil gage was down lower then I ever had seen it. (Halfway) between 0 and 32. Stopped and checked the oil and was down almost a quart. After topping it off and going about 50 miles or so, oil gage was down again. Stopped and rechecked the oil and was low again. This time I stopped for about an hour and checked for any oil leaks. Couldn’t see any at all. Add another quart of oil and off I go. Not feeling good with what I was seeing called a dealer and they took me in with no problem. What they found was the engine sprocket seal bad and it was dumping my oil over to the primary case.
All was fixed and back on the road in couple of hours. Was strange after almost 60,000 miles had a few things go bad at almost the same time.

05 eg,thought mine was different from the rest but only got 22,000 before valve seals went,always serviced properly no problems untill then......
I wouldn't even count that, it's a known defect for the '05 bikes.
And the symptoms of that would be.__.__.__.__? Got an '05 Ultra w/ 29,400 miles on it -- and no troubles (that I know of) other than a defective front motor mount (replaced 2X under warranty). Just normal wear and tear items, and the pre-paid maintenance has really been a great deal on this bike. Still have another 13 months of spending their nickel on the routine stuff... Then I guess I'll get serious about doing it myself...

70k miles with no engine trouble. Heck, mine was even one of the early "bad rear cam bearing" bikes. I didn't swap that out until 52k miles. Never had an issue.

&lt\\;P&gt\\;Only slight oil consumption,noticed a ping from the rear cylinder,thought it was bad gas,turned out the oil leaking past the seal was collecting on the piston and causin a hot spot that would ping pretty good on a warm engine under a load.&lt\\;/P&gt\\;

’00 FLHT - 10,000 miles inspected the cam bearings. They were about to go.
Then 95’d it and had no trouble till 20,000, torn diaphragm in the carb. So far that’s it.

06 Ultra, 26000 miles, no problems. Took the exhaust off last weekend and checked the cam tensioners, looked like new. Happy.
