02 ultra tank swap issues solved
Ok I have gotten a lot of help from member here and I wanted to say thanks. I also wanted to give you all a little info on the issue.
Ihave an 02 Ultra w/efi and I am swaping to a new paint set off of an 05 road glide (w/batwing painted to match). Well I knew that I had the new style Delfi EFI with the one line fitting but what I found out from doing the swap is that whenHD did the change over in o2 from the 2 line fitting to 1 they still had some old tanks left over and lucky me I had one of these factory converted tanks. What that means is that the check valve that screws into the bung on the bottom of the tank is a different size between the two tanks. Now its not a huge deal other than the fact that the dealer said it couldn't be so and I had a (carb bike WTF??) and I had to go to 4 dealers before I found one with the part instock which was $50 for a damn check valve [:@]. I know I could have order it cheaper from surdyke ($30) but they did not have it in stock and not having the fitting was really holding up the works on my bike.
The moral of the story is that if you have an 02 EFItake a look at the bottom of your tank before swaping out your tins if you have one line out for fuel and a plug in a second bung you have one of the special tanks [&:](maybe its rare and worth a bunch) and you will also need to buy a new upper check valve fitting.
