I run Rinehart TD's and haven't burnt myself yet. Maybe I've just been.... uh......lucky? I went to my Dr. the other day and told him "it hurts when I do this", he said "don't do that"......

 

RJs originals....I've never burned myself, but can feel the heat....RJs will keep it off your legs.

 

The reason for this is the head pipe is so large it can't be tucked in as tight as a smaller diameter pipe. You can use Vance & Hines Dresser Duals or Rinehart Cross Dresser head pipes which are both 1.75" diameter ( same as stock ) and then use Rinehart slip-ons and get the same look and sound. Nobody will be able to tell the difference from 10 feet away. On a stock engine the smaller diameter head pipes may even work better in the low and mid-range rpms.

 

I had the same problem. Replaced the stock exhaust with V&H 2 into 1 and ended the problem!

 

GO WITH FULLSAC DUELS. WORKS GREAT AND NO ISSUES HERE

I'm going to order the RJ originals per the posts I've seen here. If these don't work, I guess I'll need to look at replacing my pipes.

Had the same problem with a set of samson dresser duals (true duals) didn't have a single pair of jeans with out a burn hole in the left inner thigh. replaced it with a supertrapp supermeg 2-1. no burn on the left and because the rear pipe goes foward before it loops back no heat problem on the right either
