Default Americade warning

If any of you plan on attending Americade in Lake George NY this week, I caution you to NOT attend if you have anything other than stock pipes on your bike... the state troopers are pulling over EVERY bike and checking forexhaust noise, helmets, inspection, etc... I don't know the exact figures, but they've already handed out a boat load of tickets..

I saw in the paper today that the Troopers had checkpoints for BIKERS and out of 22 bikes,8 were wrote up for non DOT helmets and one for no regis. This is in the Leyden area not really very far from there.Troopers say they are going to be out to avoid needless deaths for bikers during the summer months.I guess a DOT helmet will save everyone.Just thought I would pass this on.Ride safe-others are watching out for you also!

Can they really issue tickets if your state allows pipes?

Locals are just getting tired of all of the hassle of large bike festivals. They don't want the noise, the congestion, and the minority of attendees that exhibit bad behavior have spoiled the well. Myrtle Beach is seriously considering doing away with its bike week, and even Daytona locals and politicos are discussing severly curtailing the festivities. Several years ago Daytona PD started a large crackdown on loud pipes at both Bike Week and Biketoberfest.
