I'd check the owners manual or try what he said, Wish my rear cylinder would do that. it's hot,

It's in the '08 Touring Manual. At least it was for my new Road King Classic.

It appears under EITMS and looks like it is the "Parade Download" everyone has talked about for the '07's. I'm not sure if it is just on the touring bikes with Cruise, but here is what you have to do....

Turn ignition on, turn to "Run" but DO NOT START. At this point, roll the throttle forward and hold for three seconds and you will see the cruise light flash amber or green. I think green signifies parade mode (ie: Cylinder shut-off) and Amber signifies it's disabled (normal running). I may have those backwards though.

I messed with it the other day, it did help cool the engine, but NOTHING like my XiED's. Man, Nightrider has it going on, I can't believe the difference it has made. I have a pair of RJ's heat deflectors just sitting here waiting for me to put them on, but since the XiED's, I haven't wanted to take the time, because if I have any free time, it's putting miles on the bike.

I had the Dealer install the download on my 07 SE 110. You have to get used to the different sound the engine is going to make when the rear shuts off. That..and the vibrations. You will know it is working.

the 08s manufactured after December 2007 have it fixed so you can enable or disable EITMS yourself.
