OK I'll try....
Floating rotors will move a little allowing the caliper and pads to align square to the rotor increasing braking efficiency. Less noise too.

I installed the chrome floating rotors when I installed the chrome wheels. I don't see any difference in braking, but the chrome looks good.

Russell True Floating Brake Rotors

Russell True Floating Brake Rotors are made from 420 stainless steel with chrome plated centers. Spring-loaded rotor retention system ensures quiet operation and maximum floatation. Floating rotors run cooler, align with brake pads better and track truer with minimal distortion under maximum braking pressure.

Sure do like the Brembo calipers that come on the 08 bikes. Don't know why it took HD so long to put them on, Bikes like Moto Guzzi had them on in 04. The moto Guzzi even had dual calipers on bikes like my buddy's the 04 california.
Hd is stalling on what they do to their bikes.

They dissapate heat better and you won't have to start one of the "My stock rotors seem to be warped, what do I do now" threads. That IS an advantage
