OK I'll try....
Floating rotors will move a little allowing the caliper and pads to align square to the rotor increasing braking efficiency. Less noise too.

just be aware that HD floating rotors are not true floaters. they are 2 piece rotors that are hard rivited together. i have some because my stock rotors were toast but i got the HD floaters cause i liked the look. the lyndall pads are what make the braking better.

true floating rotors have springs and washers seperating the 2 peices. you can grab the disk and move it with your hands (very little). the HD "floaters" are 2 peice but they are solidly connected so there is no movement. check the price for HD "floaters" vs a floater from lyndall or performance machine, there is a reason the HD's are so cheap.....
