Hmmmm-I wonder why Phil thought he needed a raincoat-was the hardhat in case of hail????
As best as memory serves, it had somethingto do with the way we had to "cozy up" on that damn trolly riding down into the mine!

Great stuff Guy!!!

I am ready to go back now. Let's see.... work / repeat trip, work / repeat trip. That's a tuff one!

Looks like a nice trip there. Good to hear how well the stroker engines ran. I'd love to be in the 40's mpg with my new build.
If the build is done right, and the tune is spot on, you can wring that kind of mileage or close to it from your 124. Interesting note - Phil averaged about 3 mpg better at most fuel stops, sometimes more. Only diffierence is the exhaust> Phil: Fatcat, me: Boarzilla, the throttle body, Phil: 55mm HP, me: 50mm SE and the injectors, Phil: 6gm/sec Marrens, me: 4.89 gm/sec SE.

We are running darn near identical ignition maps in the DTT.

It actually appears that the larger engines really thrive on more air for better economy. I am debating the value of spending the money on the TB and injectors vs. the return in performance and economy. (ya, your right, I will most likely make the changes eventually)

As for getting the bike into the rooms at night, we did our best, but the desk clerks drew the line at that. We actually had to "ignore" one clerk as she just didnt understand that there was a lot of money in bikes sitting out front and we wanted them protected. All other clerks were very accomodating including supplying towels when requested to clean the bikes so we didnt ruin the good room towels. I guess the one was having a bad day and a bunch of bikers was the last thing she wanted to deal with.[:@]

Thanks, fellows for the pictures and stories, I imagine like me everyone is a little jealous. I'm glad you fellows had a great time and rode safe. We appreciate you taking the time to share your trip, look forward to the next one cause I know this sounds like an annual event now to somewhere.
