Default LED Conversion

I was hit in the rear and had kuryakyn ligth bar and LED's. All lenses were smoked with the brake controller. Both the turn signals and taillight pulsated when applying the brakes. When I decided to repair the damage I ordered the kurykyn 2098 light bar and bullet turn signals and wired it the same as I did the first time. This light bar came with standard bulbs. So since my LED bulbs were not damaged in the accident I plugged them in.Strangely they did not light at all. I plugged LED's into my brothers bike and they lit perectly.

Now that I know the LED'swork does anyone have a clue as to what the mistery is with the new light bar?

Was the wireing to the lights damaged in the accident? (Check to see if you have 12v where your plugging the new light bar in. If not, check fuses, wireing ect...

The standard bulbs work and the LED does not (same turn signal socket). So having voltage would not address the issue.

Ok, sorry to state the obvious, just didn't read your post as them being that way. Are the contacts in the sockets good? Or did they get tweeked? If the bulbs worked in the other bike,,, WTH? (I THINK that LED's can be put in backwards, and they wont work,,, could this be a possibility? Man, sometimes something so simple can be so hard....

Figured it out. When you said maybe the bulb was put in backward in dawned on me that the wiring could be backward on the turn signal. Since an LED is a diode it can on pass through current in one direction. Reveresed the turn turn signal wires and she lit.

Thanks

With all the idiots on the road today a Vegas casinolighting set-up wont guarantee somebody won't smash into you. The better visibilty you have on the rear of your bike (brighter LEDs, flashing brake set-up, etc) the less of an IQ the moron behind you needs to not play tag with your rear fender.
