I was headded out for for a ride this morning, when pulling up to a stop my bike just died. I hit starter switch and it fired right back up. I thought, daym, I must of hit the kill switch by mistake. I'm shifting to 4th gear now and notice I am only doing 20mph on the speedometer. WTF? Sine I just got done polishing her up maybe I knocked a wire off my VSS (vehicle speed sensor). I go to pull over and check it out and as soon as I clutch, the bike dies again. (no fault codes logged either) I ride to my dealership and talk to the service manager, tell him of the problem and he ask me does the turn signal auto cance work? I tell him by gosh, you know they didn't self cancel anytime today since I started having these other problems. He tells me the problem is most likely a defective speedometer, as mine is the 6th "08" bike in this weekend for the same problem. Soonest they can get me in is Wednesday. Warranty will cover all nessessary repairs.Has any other 08 owner had this happen to them? Just curious.

850 miles, 08 streetglide, not a single issue here, knock on wood !!

 

1500 miles...no issues

 

I had different issues. Speedo would work then it wouldn"t then work then not etc..... Replaced and now have no problems 12K on the bike

 

5000 miles on 08 ultra with no issues so far knock on wood

 

1400 miles on my Ultra and no problems at all. Runs like a champ.

 

7280 on mine and not one single problem........Great bike Iput about 250 on it today.

 

absolutley with out a doubt the 08's are the best Harley has come out with to date.
just wanted to pass this "heads up" incase you have the problem on the road.
Bike will still run, just a pain to have to keep hitting start switch everytime you come to a stop.

 

5,600 miles no problems at all YET!

 

3000 miles so far and no problems here either.
