Not that much money to waste if you do it yourself. I did my own and have about $30.00 in painting supplies tied up in it.

I went down to Harley and got a 2 shaker cans of the blue for my bike and one clear coat can. Cost me about $35. It my not look like a pro did it but it looks much better than the faded black was looking. So my cost was not much other than my time.

Painting mine was one of my winter projects because I think it is one of the cheapest really great looking mods. I also really love the green that Wally did to his, and I have never seen a two tone striped job like SeaHag's before. I think that looks pretty cool too.
I did mine because the sunfading made it look like the worst piece on my bike.
I also painted the plastic light surround on the beer box too.
