I did gloss black on my FLHTCI and I love it - has any of the Road Glide folks tried it??? I saw one Road Glide that did just the speedo/Tac area in Gloss black - looked nice... would like to see a Road Glide with it all done??

 

It would be easyer to clean , I want it,It seems like a bunch of work . I work on it only when I have to.

A salesman at one of the local dealerships had an 01 RG with custom paint. The entire left side of the bike was solid black and the right side was HD racing orange. The colors were separated be a ~3" checkered flag strip right down the center of the bike. The paint job included the inner fairing and it REALLY looked good. I don;t think he still has it I have not seen it in a couple years. Wish I had a pic, it would be worth posting. Bottom line - the inner fairing looks great color matched on FLTR's too.

Likely something I'll consider in the not to distant future.

It is another addiction!

 

Not sure the gloss paint would create a lot of glare?

 

Not that much money to waste if you do it yourself. I did my own and have about $30.00 in painting supplies tied up in it.

I say beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.... It looks ok with some colors and others its just plain nasty kind of like the little punks in the car, it gives that cheesy cheap a$$ look. I thought about doing it to my bike for about 2 seconds, then decided I didn't need the same look inside as out. I like being able to give the flat black a lick and a promise dry job and not worry about waxing it.
