I just installed Hogtunes speakers on my new '08 Street Glide. I can now hear the radio at highway
speeds even with heavy traffic around me. With the stock speakers I could barely make out what song was playing.
Substantial difference. The amp distorts before the Hogtunes speakers do.

I had the same problem with stock speakers. If you turn the bass down to half way you can hear the speakers fine at 80mph

TONY:

HOGTUNES- I've now got six speakers and two amps - can't go wrong

Like vtwin said above, amps distort BEFORE the speakers do - when MAXED out[:-]

Most of my friends have Hogtunes and like them...Being a little different.. I went with J&M speakers. I visited their booth at Myrtle Beach Bike Week and was impressed enough to buy them...They are installed and SOUND GREAT..I have a slight hearing problem..low and high speeds I can hear them clearly..these speakers sell for about the same as Hog Tunes .. worth every dime for the upgrade..J&M also have a tweeeter built into their system..

Hi all

Sounds like the Hogtunes is the way to go. "Soon to be" , i like the speakers you have in the lowers. I dont have the ultra , i am sporting the 05 FLHTC (classic). If i decide to go for the 2 extra speakers in the lowers , will i need an extra amp to power them;remember this in an FLHTCI and not the ultra classic.if so where do you mount the amp. Thanks all.

If you buy the "3 Way for the Freeway" kit it includes the amp, all necessary wiring and the lower fairing speakers. The amp is small enough that it mounts to the top of your radio with velcro.

The amp only powers the lower fairing speakers. Your radio powers the front and rear speakers.
I am looking at doing this too and I can't afford Hawg Wired stuff...
