Probably You need a new seat. Harleys sundowner
is highly recommended on this site. Also You could
try a riders backrest?

Mine got to a point where i couldn't even ride

i changed the seat and the bars went with apes 13" and that brought my arms shoulder height alot better at least i can ride now.

I would think, back rest is needed, or the more probable cause is you are reaching for the bars.

I had a similar problem and coudn't figure out waht it was. The pain I had was towrds my right shoulder. Every time I turned my head, it felt like some od granny was plunging her knitting needle into my back.

Turned out, wearing one of those lifting support belts took care of the issue for me. I think I was slouching too much on the bike. I took one of those back supports, cut off the shoulder straps and problem gone.

Back Rest!!!

I had to adjust mine with a BFH and an anvil but it was way worth it Someone was selling one for 125 in the classified section I'd snap that up and try it!

dcc46, I don't think it's the Street Glide. Positioning yourself for comfort should do you, ie.. handlebars, seat, back brace, backrest? I myself, have had several back surgeries, 1 just 10 months ago...I have a severe case of stenosis and virtually no disc between my vertebrae. I just got back from a 3900 mile trip( 9 days )on a stock seat. I personally like the ability to slide back and forth on the stock seat for comfort....The Comfortstitch or Sundowner won't allow me to do this... I have both! So, I advise to get comfortable, having a bad back or causing a bad back on a Street Glide...I don't think so.
