Yup, get the adjustable back rest. did wonders for me. you can adjust it forward some to reach the bars better.

I added the Sundowned and Adj backrest. All is well now. I can ride all day now with that combo.

Side note... I added the adj backrest with the stock seat and I could feel the mounting bracket for the backrest through the seat when the backrest was off. It was uncomfortable. I added the sundowner with more padding and it works great. Passenger is much happier too.

i had no problems on my fatboy with my back but since i got the streetglide i have a paindead in the center of my back.any idea what this is from? ie: i need to move foward / back , bars higher / lower? seat higher / lower? thanks in advance .
short answer: yes.

basically, you have to find the right combination of seating/handlebar positioning thats right for you. unfortunately, that could involve a lot of trial and error. see how others have their bikes configured and see if you can find a combination that works for you.

Not that you need one more piece of advice... but here it is anyway: I've had 6 back surgeries, the last one in March, and I'm riding my FLHRC... but it sounds to me like a handlebar issue-- fortunately it also sounds like it is muscular. I'd consider having someone who knows look at your posture on the bike, if you are slouching it could be the problem-- you might need a seat and bars... don't experiment, go to a dealer that has a seat and bar set up that they can change for you. Ask around, there are 4 dealers near me and only one has it. Sit on it and see... try riding some setups that your buddies are on. It took new bars a new seat, new forks, new shocks and I'm getting close.

Best,
J

Same deal with me. I was thinking of changing the bars but was going to do the seat change first to save some cash.
