Default Sundowner softer?

I know the Sundowner is $300. The stock Street Glide is okay. The Mustang touring seats look like pillows. I just want to know if I will get a softer seat with the Sundowner or should I just pay another $100 more and go Mustang

Sundowner will be softer than stock Streetglide seat, Mustang will be real nice! I just purchased a Sundowner for my Ultra to swap back and forth between the Road Glide seat and the Sundowner as I like the Road Glide seat and Mama likes the bigger back pillion so I got a Sundowner because the stock Ultra seat sucks

Just put the Sundowner on my Roadglide last week, I would not say it is softer but it is more cupped for your butt, a little wider. The Mustang is flat out flat and I prefer the cupped shape for looks and comfort. On long trips I slip on a Alaska butt pad (sheepskin) and I am good for a long day. Just put on the Harley backrest, could not get it to feel right untill I turned the mounting bracket on "backwards",,,,now It is really comforable

I bought the Sundowner about a year ago and agree that at first, I was concerned about how hard the seat felt. After about 300 miles, it became more comfortable. Since, I can ride for hours and will not get a sore butt. Recently, I rode a rented Road King and after about 150 miles it felt like sitting on a brick! I am very pleased with the Sundowner and how it has "adapted" to my backside.

Sundowner breaks in real easy and feels great. Softer and wider than stock. Wifey is real happy with it as she hated the stock seat.

I had Allen at MCC rework my Sundowner seat for my RKC. Love the mods andit wasworth every penny (but skip the heaters...they just aren't necessary and you'll save $190). I had the gel pads and 2" of memory foam done. Made the passengers seat 15" wide (stock seat sucked and was only 9" wide for mamma...in this case size does matter) and it still looks good on the bike. Really can't describe to you what a big improvement this made on the Sundowner seat. It may seem like a tol at first but when you consider the life of your bike and the extra seat time you get it is worth it.

I put a Sundowner and backrest on my Ultra after about 200 miles. I now have just over 2000 miles on the bike and love the seat. Lastweekwe rode from eastern Missouri to eastern Tennessee and back. The return trip Monday was around 550 miles. I can't say enough about how comfortable this seat is. No hot spots, no pain. On my 2001 Goldwing with a stock seat I would be hurting after 200 miles or so.

Wider? Bummer... No Sundowner for me. Only have a 32 inch inseam and want to stand up. The stock seat is 16 inches wide as well and I cramp up.

The Sundowner sits about an inch lower than the stock seat.I didn't motice it being any wider. In factthe stock passenger grab strap was several incheslonger than on the Sundowner (meaning it should be wider). Before switching the stock windscreen to the Clearview I was looking through the top edge of the screen. With the Sundowner it was solidly through the top of the screen. I have a 30 inch inseam and have noproblem standing atred lights.
