Shock travel distance Question
OK I know this is elementary to most of you but just humor me.
When you add or decease air to the shocks on an touring model, does that change the over all laden seat height of the bike or does it just control the amount of shock travel and the seat height remains the same. I have thought about this to the point neither way makes sense to me. Enlighten please.

RE: Shock travel distance Question
Well what started this was when I started to think about my old 69 SS Chevelle that had air shocks when I added air to the shocks the bumper height would increase. So as I thought about it I began to think that the touring bike also would raise. Thought that would make it more difficult for a height challenged rider to stand flat footed.
As I said the more I thought... the more confused I made myself thanks for straightening me out.

RE: Shock travel distance Question
Laden seat height as you know, is with weight on it. If you ride with 0 air pressure the shock will compress more than with 30 lbs pressure. but you probably should'nt ride with no air pressure. The travel stop is what keeps the tire from hitting the fender.
