Check out Howard's site at motorcyclemetal.com he is a big help and his site is filled with pics, so call him buy the pads and follow his instructions. He is a stand up guy!

Did 'em on the side of the street in Cody last year. Ten minutes. The shorter version is to spread both pads out, drop both, then place the outer pad, push pins part way to hold it, then the inner pad, then the pins all the way. Wiggle the pads to make sure they are held by both pins.

Just put new pads on the rear of my 2000 RG last weekend and it took less than 30 min. to do it. Also changed to floating rotors on the front with new pads at the same time. It only took a couple of hours to change all brake pads & rotors. The bike is much better now and the squeal from the front brakes is now gone....sweet![sm=biker2.gif]

You can do it in 15 minutes or less, just use something to spread the oldpads to make room for the new ones.

Dang... I had better read up well....I have got to change the pads on the front of my 05 Glide and really don't know where to start... I can do any 4 wheeler but when it comes to my glide I am lost..Waiting for a maint manual but I want to do it now..LOL I figured out the 3 hole oil changes with some help from the forum and went smooth and took no time at all.

I also heard horror stories about the filter change mess on the filter in the front, but with a lil car mech know how I only had 3 drops...I just listened to the forum tips and went from there...This forum and the peeps here ROCK!!!!!! Thanks again!!!!!

With the correct tools it wasn't bad at all, and I'm no "wrench". Get a 1/4 -12 point socket and a good thick putty knife. Several good thick rags (to cover scrathable parts) Oh, and a bike jack helps. I'm a fat old man and getting it up off the ground helps alot.

I changed my brakes to Lyndall's early because my Road King Custom fronts squealed from the first day offthe lot. I heard this should help but it really didn't.I complained every time I was at the dealer but they said there is nothing they could do. I think it's the rotors, not the brakes. (bad designI guess)
