Default 07 Street glide engine noise

Greetings,
I have a 07 Street Glide and have an engine noise that sounds alot like lifters. It comes and goes with the RPM changes but almost sounds like the engine is lugging. The bike has 1300 miles on it so I am sure that nothing is worn out yet and I am thinking I am just being paranoid. Is this a common noise for the 96" motors? My brother just bought a 08 ultra (new) and his makes the same noise. I had an 88" wide glide before and it never made any noise.
Any ideas,thoughts, or advice?
Thanks in advance

What RPM range and gears are you in when this happens? Changed the break in oil yet? What did you put back in all 3 holes?

I have an 08 with 2000 miles and no noise. But then again if you think about it you are sitting on top of an engine. If you sat on the hood of your car you would probably hear a bunch of crazy noises. Did you make the switch to synthetic? I did.

its generally a low RPM noise (2000 or under) it is not a constant noise, and as I stated my brothers new ultra does the same thing with 100 miles on it. Could it be the oil is thinning down at temp enough to make the noise? Its Harley oil.

My 07 engine is noisy as hell.

First noise was tracked down to a bad crank. I had them do the 103" upgrade while they were replacing that, and even after practically rebuilding the entire top of the motor it's still noisy. I know what normal lifter noise sounds like, and this sounds like that, only MUCH louder.

Now I'm getting a bad primary whine at all RPM's, but as usual I'm being told "that's normal".

About to go jump up someone's *** at the dealership to get it fixed, and fixed RIGHT this time. I didn't pay this kind of money for a bike that makes noises that it ain't supposed to. I wasn't born yesterday, and I've ridden many bikes in my day. The noises this engine makes are NOT "normal".

/rant off

Dayum - it was prolly built on a Friday...

I must have been lucky. My 08 was built on Wednesday and purrrrrrs. I *just* changed to 20w50 Full Syn in all 3 holes last night at 1,264miles.

Mine makes a similar noise, I was running Mobil 1 v-twin synthetic, switched to Valvoline VR-1 20W50 Dino oil and it sounds much better. 8,000 miles here.

Yep, mine makes that same ticking noise and varies with rpm, and most noticeable in the 1800 - 2100 range. Different oils didn't make it more or less. Running Amsoil 20w-50 now.

The noise is more of a bother than a concern to me.

Fairing tends to trap a lot of noise you dont hear on bikes without fairing.
