Anybody Install Guages on Detachable Fairing
If you have: a: What kind of guages did you find to be best and why? b: Did you have difficulty cutting the holes through your dash? What's the best kind of connections to install to make them detachable without too much problem? Any advise or guidance would be appreciated. Just bought a new Dead Center Fairing, and I like it so much I don't think it's coming off. Guages would be nice addition. Thanks, CCRyder

I have a killer stereo plus the addition of oil pressure, oil temp & a 2" Harley accessory tach in mine. Since I have LED fuel & voltage gauges in my Kuryakyn gas cap setup, that gives me a full gauge complement. . I cut all the holes with the appropriate size hole saw. My OP gauge is a mechanical Accell gauge & I put a male to male coupler in the middle of the line to quickly split it when necessary. As far as the tach & oil temp, I used trailer plugs at the base of the fairing to simply snap apart when necessary.
It takes me about 2 minutes to remove the fairing (the hardest part is just making sure I don't scratch the damn thing after it's off)
I had it off a few weeks ago experimenting with a different set of speakers (I have lower fairing speakers also) & when I reinstalled it I realized about 30 seconds after I started the engine that I had forgotten to reconnect the OP line (it is somewhat hidden & was not obvious that is was hanging loose). That definitely made my day as the bikewas fairly clean at the time.........
