I dont know about all that, Ive buried the speedometer a few times on my 07' RKCustom. I run the stage 1 a/c with the pciii and samson slip ons nothing too crazy. My bike runs like a raped ape, its scary fast but it gets the heart pumping so I push my luck from time to time.

Arrow Panties in a bunch?

I read this thread differently. I thought the question pertained to an auto shut off on the cruise control. My owners manual says that the cruise only works until 87 mph. Don't know why that number, why not 88 mph or 99 mph?
At that speed I don't want to be on cruise.
Go as fast as you feel safe doing. Speed limits suck!

Whiners...

Thumbs up

Have an '09 Fat Bob. Does 105 in 4th, 5th, and 6th, and not like the rev limiter in 1st (45), 2nd (65), or 3rd (85). Has to be a speed limiter.
And don't say it doesn't have the power - I had a '78 Lowrider, stock 80 inch Shovel did 135 with just gearing changes back when I was much younger.

Do not know where you reached those speed, and do not care. No harm no foul. But it is still one heavy bike with only so much to give. But I am sure you know that. And if you intended to drive that speed on a regular bases. You would have a crotch rocket. I am sure he is not the only one who has taken his/her bike to top speed. Those who live in glass houses should not play with stones. My 2006 Glide will only do about 105 -8 if the speedo is right.

Rented an 07 EG classic (100% stock) in Arizonia for 7 days of riding, had it over 105 and up to 115 many times. Bike handled it great an it did not seem to have any type of rev limiter or electronic speed control on it.

My 80" evo 5 speed, 20 yr old glide has done 105 to 110 multiple times. The 07 accelerates smoother and maintains the high speed better than the old Glide (more stable). Still, it is more than doable to run that speed on even an old glide.

My bike is stock and first I thought there was a speed limiter. It just doesn't have the guts to pull past 105 in 5th gear (forget about 6th). When I'm trying for top end 4th gear works for me got to an indicated about 109 I guess but not 110. More than 105 that I got in 5th-6th gear and did not hit the rev limiter. When I shifted into 5th gear I lost speed.

With nothing more than a 2 into 1 pipe, high flow AC and a proper tune, your scoot is easily capable of 120mph. Had it up to that speed several times and for the safety *****, I was smokin a cigarette too (well smokin isn't really the case...holdin onto it for dear life with my lips is a more accurate description). Break 110mph easily.

No, what's selfish is when I won't share my Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.

A real biker rides for today because they know there may not be a tomorrow...try living in the moment instead of your ***.

Russl, you talk out of your *** without even knowing what the hell you're talking about; speed limits weren't implemented for safety, they were implemented for fuel conservation...in 74, the 55mph speed limit was implemented, see the coorlation. Prior to that, in many areas there was no speed limit. By your logic, is there any reason for a vehicle on a public roadway to exceed 55mph? How about 45...maybe 35...I'm sure it's safer.

Your arrogance...or is it ignorance, offends me deeply...well, actually it doesn't because your opinion really doesn't matter outside your little world.

After I had my Bassani slip ons, Ness big sucker, and PC-V installed, I had mine up to about 115 when I backed off. Haven't been back up there since. I didn't buy my SG for the speed but I was just curious......
