My '07 103 will top out between 105 and 115, depending on the grade, wind condition and other factors. It will hit 100 very smooth with no problems.
By the way. I do this on a public highway, illegally where the speed limit is posted 55 with a non-DOT helmet. The same road and place where I run my Duramax to 150 MPH, and where I also ran a Busa to 175 MPH. It's in my blood, the same way being a crying bitch is in other peoples blood. I am man enough to live up to the consequences. May I suggest one of these if you think 80 MPH is scary? http://planetminimotos.com/prod_imag...moped-50_1.jpg

The six speed trannys on the '08s aren't overdrive in 6th gearanymore? I know the '07s were. Seems like kind of a waste of the gear if it's not an overdrive, but then maybe they changed the primary gearing to compensate. That would still give them a higher final drive ratio with a 1:1 sixth gear.[sm=confused06.gif]

And, by the way, mine's an '07 not an '08....just sayin'
You`re right about the higher "numerically" final drive ratio. But it`s still 1:1 ,so no; it`s not an overdrive. So basically every time your shifting the guy next to you with the 4 or five speed is leaving you.
Actually, it's not 1:1 it's actually 2.9:1 And the guy with the 4 or 5 speed is trying to strech his power band and not in the best HP/TRQ range. None have "left" me so far.

I know that it's not the rev limiter stopping it because that causes a cut-out of the engine and is at the same RPM in any gear 1st through 6th. So if there is a limiter it would have to be a de-fueler or something similar. It does seem odd that most have that limit but several stock bikes do not????

Don't know where mine tops out, but it is way beyond what a sane person would attempt to find out.

There is not a speed limiter on the stock bikes except for the hp and tq, they will only pull it so fast in stock form.

have not tried.

What MPG do you get at 105 mph?

LMAO! I ride this speed most of the time through school zones and past funeral processions and get about 32.8 mpg But I think if I could get 'er up to about 120 through the Mall parking lot that the cars and people would break the wind some and possilby get me up to 33 MPG![sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]
I love it!

If you're so experienced in racing you'd know the answer isdrag = HP therfore acceleration =0 or darn close to it. On the other hand, I don't care if you want a lecture or not, Were you in your leathers and full-face helmet or in shorts, tank-top, flip-flops and helmetless? When someone like you screws-up we all pay for it in higher insurance fees and laws and regulations which further restricts those"freedoms" you were so anxious to be exercising.
Oh Goodie [sm=smiley32.gif] We hear from another rocket scientist![sm=loser.gif]
