vance and hines /big city thunder
Does anyone know if i could take the vance and hines oval slip ons i have and take the baffles out and replace with the big city thunder products. I couldn't remember where i saw someone on here with that set-up on a set of rhineharts. if so wold i need a remap or fuel management of some type? or would i be better off getting rush mufflers with a bigger baffle and again what fuel mods do i need? Or can i just take off my slip ons and put the rush on it's place. i am trying to get a better (and more) sound without dropping $1500. just bought a new house so i need to keep it on the cheap as best i can. 06 street glide, no motor mods.

I started with stage 1, power commander, stock head pipes, and hooker slip ons with baffles. Went to h-d and got it tuned, ran great. A few months later took the baffles out and installed the big city thunder baffles in the ends of the stock head pipe. It ran better with this set up, never re-tuned it. as far as I can tell it doesn't run lean at all. Sounds way better also. Mine is a fuel injected 06 street glide. All the crap you hear about back pressure and tuning for fuel injection is a little over rated. Take your baffles out and let it breath, you shouldn't need any tuning at all, but, I'm not a certified mc tech either. the 88's can run without baffles, so a tech told me, try it, you'll like it.
A friend of mine runs a 06 sg with the v&h pro pipe with no baffle. sounds incredible and runs great. Good luck with whatever way you go.
