Its all in the rider!!! I plan most of my long trips @ 60mph... When I'm moving and up to speed cruise in the 75 to 80 range. Also, I plan for 500 miles/day and if I'm feeling good at that point I will go on. Most of the time I'm looking for a place to rest with 6-800 miles under my Azz. Take into account, we are talking having good weather!

 

Riding in the Keys is slow going and boring, lots of old people in FL., sorry. It took me about 7 hours to get from Stuart(above W. Palm Beach) toKey West. Unless you have a passion to go there I would plan a better ride and take the plane for your visit to the Keys. If you want to test your butt ride to Sturgis and back rather than the trailer queens that go there.I've ridden there from SLCleavingFRI., partying SAT., and coming home SUN. over 1400 miles.

Like mosthave said, it's all about what you want and what your butt can take.

ive driven fron chicago to daytona straight a couple of times and dam was that a long ride. 1100 miles and about 19.5 hrs. ive also done sturgis straight a few times and a much easier ride being a couple hundred miles less. if in no hurry just break it up and enjoy the scenery.

 

You do what feels good for you....I've too have ridden 600 plus miles in a day (12-14 hours ). Stopping every 100-120 miles for gas, pit stop in the mens room and to refresh yourself...fluid wise! Enjoy your ride, don't try to be a superstar for bragging rights....
