RE: Rainproof foot wear
Have cruiserworks boots over several years and been in numerous torrential downpours without so much as a drop getting through. Pricey but extremely comfortable. I recommend them highly. I believe it's www.cruiserworks.com.

I ride with a guy whose nickname is Rainman so I bought a pair of the Harley Rainmakers for 140.00 from the shoeshack.com. Its hard to believe but the reason I bought the Harleys is because they were the least expensive that I could find in a high top boot. Rode to Little Rock Arfrom Wichitaks 2 weeks ago. On I40amoungst all of the tractor trailers in adown poor for 2 plus hours and the feet stayed dry. I just put the mink oil on heavy and left them alone the day before I left.

I've been using HD (made by Wolverine)Gore-Tex boots (bought a second pair for a ridiculously low price) for the past 3+ years, 50K miles, and they've kept my feet dry in heavy rain, walking through deep puddles, etc., and they are not hot in the summer, and keep the feet warm in winter.
Don't know if HD still sells them, but theywere on Wolverine's website last time I looked--highly recommend them.

Mink oil does a good job. I have a pair of Rocky water proff boots. You can get them at any good shoe/boot store. They are not leather. They are very comfortable and not too heavy. Cost was $69.95. They are water proff. You can stand in water all day they will not leak.
