Yep it sounds like connection, Make sure you use the dialectic grease and push that connection together tight. I actually wrapped a wire tie around the connection to keep it tight. Yes if you are out on the road and it dies you can just unplug the PC and you will be back to the way you were and your download will still be there.

Guys, I am very detailed and make sure I do things right.I checked 4xand did NOT get any dialectic grease in my package. Nor does my instructions even mention it. Thanks for letting me know. I will try that but also call Fuel Moto today and see what's up.

I had major problems with my PCIII, tried grease, tried checking over the the pins in the connectors. Took it off, put it back on, same problem with the bike just dying.
I bought a Thunder Max, problem solved.

Any time you take an electrical connection apart on any type of vehicle dielectric grease should be applied. It keeps out unwanted liquids etc, helps prevent corrosion and aids in re-installation of the plug. As far as the statement made "thats why I bought a SERT " any piece of electronic equipment can fail. Just because it has the "Holy Bar and Shield" on it does not make it the greatest. The argument that "it was engineered by the MOCO so it has to be the best" just doesn't hold water. Lately the engineering has been spotty at best. We can all think of a few things on a Harley that could have been engineered better!

Thanks, Mine has no such image or wording........Just checked again.
Do I only use the grease on the one connection of the black PCIII to the grey stock connector or ALSO the connection back to the ECM?

Well, talked to Jamie at Fuel Moto. He said that he has not heard of this happening. Told me to double check pins (any bent?) and all connections. Ride it again and see what happens...

If it happens again, he said to unhook the PCIII and go back to my original stock connections and set up see if it still does it then.

Its really not unheard of that a PC can be bad either as is the case with anything you buy. If that is the case Jamie will replace it. Dont give up on it, its a great unit and you will like it once the bugs are ironed out. I have had mine on for two years and it has not missed a beat.
