Default Zumo 550 with Powerlet Bar & Techmount ?

Found what may or may not be the solution the a GPS/Ipod mounting combo. Since I want a clean looking mount etc after some research I am wondering if this will work.

Powerlet Bar to get power to the Zumo with a short say 12" cord.

Techmount - I want one baseplate with the Zumo permanently mounted and a second arm and baseplate combo with their Ipod mount. What I am wondering is if the arm on the Techmount is easy on and easy off? The Ipod mount setup would be on the majority of the time. Yes, I know the Zumo can hold MP3's but would prefer to use the Ipod setup. It appears that I could fairly easily change out the arm with baseplates.

Lastly, have you found that mounting on the left or right side is easier? Since I am right handed, I am thinking the right side especially for using the Ipod.

No, the Techmount arm is not easy on/off. Not sure your proposed solution would work very well.

The Techmount stem screws into the power bar. The Techmount mounting plate is attached to the stem. They also make (which you would need two) a bracket which slides down over the mounting plate and locks into place. You can mount GPS on one and your Ipod on another. You would also need two power cables. You could swap back and forth in minutes.
