Default Bike to Bike Communication help needed.

I have an 07 Ultra the wife has a 07 Sportster 1200 Low.

When the wife rides on my ultra with me we both use the Harley stock communication system.
When she rides her Sportster and I ride my Ultra we want to talk through the CB on my Ultra.

We are looking for a system to add to her 1200. Thought about the J&M Handle bar system. I don't think it will work though.

What I want is to use the standard Harley microphone she now has on her helmet and just plug her standard cable into a J&M cable and then into the J&M CB. Does anyone know if that seems feasible?

I want to be able for her to use her present helmet setup and just change cables not microphones.

If any knows of any other system that will work I am open to suggestions. I am NOT interested in the Nady systes.

Thank in advance.

Point to the gas tank for a fuel stop. What else do you need to communicate?

The J&M will work, she will just have one lower cord for the ultra, and another for the Sportster.

Just get a really long cord to go from her bike to yours...

Been using BlueAnt Motorcycle Interphone...
Pro's: Light weight and works great for a Passanger to Rider or Bike to Bike
Con's: Short Battery Life

You can find these on E-Bay most of the time..

As noted.....the J&M will be perfect.... you'll need a cord for the Ultra, as well as one for the J&M, but that's just the short cord that goes from the helmet to the cord supplied by J&M...
You CAN go cheap if you like... there are many handheld CB units you can buy and mount on the sporty.... if your wife doesn't mind a "clutter"

check out http://www.sierra-mc.com/default.aspfor some good prices

skootchnc,

+1

Nellebelle,

let me add that you can simply get a portable CB unit that you can hook up with a head set that will allow you and her to stay in touch because you have the CB on the Ultra. Use any channel other then 19 and you will be fine. I just came back from a long trip and utilizing a portable CB inabled us all to stay in touch. Me and my Ultra CB and them with there portable CB. Here is a link that has everything you would need and it will give you an idea what it will cost:

Here is what I went with ( Click ). Haven't had it on the road yet, but so far seems like it's going to work very well. **** the price even went down another 60 since I ordered mine a week ago. [:@] Just my .02

Hope it helps.

Ride safe.
