Default Clearview vs. Klockwerks on a RG...any experience?

I've got an 07 RG that I am currently running a 12" Klockwerks shield on. It looks KILLER...but I get a lot wind across the nose, eyes, and a lot of windnoise in my ears....especially over 50 MPH. I didn't have the stock shield on long enough to know what it was like (30 miles). NOW....my brother has an 8" clearview on his EG and it has to be the quitetest rider area I've ever ridden in! I mean...even at 65 MPH....NO WIND, NO NOISE, NO NOTHIN!!! I'm insanely jealous of how calm and quiet it is ....but I know that the fairing and the shield are MUCH CLOSER than on my RG. Anyone got a clearview on their RG that can give me some advice or a comparison?
Just as a point of reference....I'm 5' 7" tall with a 30" inseam so you have an idea of how tall I'm sittin in the saddle. Thanks for any advice!

I had a 8" Clearview Recurveon my SG and just switched to a 6 1/2" Klockworks. The Klockwoeks looks killer but has just a little less protection than the Clearview. It might be hard to compare a RG vs. SG. BTW, I an 5'7" tall. (Or Short)

Good luck.

I just put a Clearview on my 05 Ultra and I love it. Great quality. I got the smoked one with recurve. No wind problem for me.

I can help here. I ran the stock shield for 5000 miles then changed to a KW 12" for only 500 miles. I'm now running a Clearview medium. Got a blem for $135 shipped.

I measured from the top of the Speedo pod to the top of the WS. KW is 9 1/2 and the CV is 13 1/2. I'm 5'11" and I ride with a back rest so I sit upright. I look just of the CV. It could be an inch shorter.

Here are some pics. Sorry about the quality.

I'm only an inch taller and ride with a Lepera seat that puts me a little lower then stock and several clearview windshields.
For every day use I use a custom cut small (an inch less then the reg GT small) and a full size stock hight shield for long journeys.

I've used a few different shields over the years, not theklock werks but several others.
The clearviews have been the best I've found for form and function.

I can hear the stereo fine at high speedsand my helmet and glasses stay put.

I put the 12" Klockwerks on my RG. Killer Looks, but the wind caught me right in the eyes. I'm 6'. I put it on my wife's RG and it works great for her, she is 5'6". I put the Clearview tinted , stock height on and it works as advertised ! Very little wind, eliminated most of the buffeting, due to shape and being wider.

I've tried a couple windshields, but not the clockworks. I've got a clearview on it now. The only thing that really helped was adding the lower fairings. Very happy now.

6'1... 34 inseam..

Clearview GT Large = 14" high and 2" wider.

It has a kick at the top that adds about 2" to the size. It is bar none one of the best things I've put on the bike. I need it for protection from bug, rain , rocks...whatever's on the road.

You can always call John at Clearview and he'll help you out with the right size.

sifularson's pictures speak a 1000 words. The shield gives me the same protection as my Heritage shield and I look over it by 2". I can smoke behind it at 90mph. It seems the faster I go, the better it gets.

The Klock Werks shield looks cool, but my scoot isn't a parking lot queen. Love the Clearview.

I'm 5'7" and have the Clearview Medium, I also bought a blem $135 plus shipping and no wait. I could not find the scratches just like John told me that I probably would not. First time I put the cover onit got scratched more than when I received it. I also have lower fairings on my 08 RG and I now have a pocket of calm. I was taking bugs in the face with the stock shield. I love the way mine rides and handles now. I changed the bars, grips, and seat, added lowers, and the clearview, to get to the envelope I wanted to ride in. My only complaint now is the heat.
