Question for those with a Memphis Shades windsheild and lowers (wind deflectors)...
I wanted to put fork leg wind deflectors on my Road Kingto help reduce the buffeting on long trips, butI have replaced the front (and rear) turn signals with the H-D turn signals that are on the FLHX. As FLHX owners know the H-D deflectors don't work on an FLHX. <crap>
I have a plan - Memphis Shades doesn't make wind deflectors for a Road King (about the only bike model they don't fit),however, their windshield mounting hardware clamps on the handlebars and uses rods to position the windshield up and out. I think I can use the W/S hardware to mount the M/S lower wind deflectors. My question for those with Memphis Shades windshields andlowers - are the two mounting screw holes the same size and distance apart on the windshields and lowers?
If they are, I can use the windsheild mounts on the crash bars toposition the lowers where they need to be. The bonus is, mounted on the crash bar they shouldn't have any effect on handling, something I've heard others with the fork mounted deflector complain about, and they should be reasonably quick release. I really don't want the deflectorson all the time, but I can live with the clamps on the crash bars.
Anyone???
