Default Installed the Chopped Tour-Pak on my Road Glide

Now I'm ready for the summer touring season!

Went with the Detachable rack so that I have some flexibility for around town

Now I'm considering a luggage rack for longer trips when I need a duffle too

Of course, now that I've had it for a few days, I wonder if I'll ever take it off - it's very handy around town

And so the transformation advances... sort of a "Ultra Roadie" in progress...

The whole package ran about $1000 for the Tour-Pak, Backrest, Lock, Detachable Rack. I ordered through my local dealer and had the Tour-Pak in about two weeks (apparently Vivid Black is a color that is readily available).

Looks great on the RG. You're dead right about it being handy, the only time mine comes off anymore is when I give the bike a detail. It's so full of stuff that I'm thinkin about getting an Ultra with the big tour pack.

John,
Very nice! If I wasn't such a packrat I'd have the chopped TP also. I actually need a California King on mine because of all the junk I haul. LOL

PJ: Get that Chopped TP off the bike immediately!!!!! Those things are absolutely addictive; if you leave it on the bike for a week or so you will never get it off the bike!!!! You will become reliant on the darn thing; wonder how you ever rode without it--and then you're hooked.

I learned that if I put my King TP on the bike for a trip, and didn't immediately remove it I'd leave it on and find myself enjoying its convenience--forgetting how much better my bike looked to me w/o the TP on the bike. Fortunately, I arrested the onset of the TP addiction, got it off the bike, and now remove it immediately upon returning from a trip.

Looks great, PJ. Thanks for the pics.

EDIT: PJ, where's the antenna?

Looks great PJ. I've had my t/p on for a few weeks and haven't had the slightest desire to take it off. So did ya decide on a rack yet???

A 3/4 helmet isn't going to fit in the Chopped TP - misses by a couple of inches. I'm pretty sure a half helmet would fit though.

HPM - I used the antenna relocation kit that places it down on the saddlebag strut (?) when I had detachable luggage rack. That wasn't the right idea for the Tour-Pak, but I made it fit by cutting off the top foot or so of the antenna. The radio still seems to receive well, but I'll probably end up with one of the short aftermarket antennas. But on the other hand, I never listen to the radio anyway, so I might just leave it as it is.
