ORIGINAL: GzrGlide

I've thought of doing something like that too, but they use red-light cameras & photo radarhere and with the plate buried under the tour pak, they can't get a picture of my plate!!!!! HA!

Curious why you wanted to move your plate inthe first place.
They'll still get a picture of it...........not a problem there.

My EZpass account had the wrong plate for my bike, and I went thru and the system didn't read my EZpass.............they sent me a crystal clear picture of my license plate in the stock position.

I wanted to do something different with the plate, and since there is an open spot down where the left pipe used to be.........it was a great spot to put the plate.

I like it. I have seen a few others with similar mounts. There is even a guy on ebay selling them. He has a pic of the mount on ebay, and from looking at it, I am sure I could make one up for myself. I still am running dual pipes, so no big hurry, LOL...

I looked around on eBay for something like this, but didn't find anything.................must not of looked hard enough.

They are easy to make, and like I said............with lights and a frame, I'll be into it for $35 and a couple hours of time.

Nice job, Steve--big improvement over the tag-under-the Tour Pak IMO.

Be sure to post in the DIY section.

If I ever decide to make my tourpak detachable again, the plate mount won't be an issue anymore.

I'm still torn about the tourpak............I use it all the time and I like having it on there. But when going out with the boys I'd like to be able to take it off and have a sporty looking bike again.

Made a slight modification to my plate bracket just last week. First I removed the bracket / assembly below the tour-pak. Then used a putty knife to scrape off that damn reflector, allowing me to drop the plate about 1" after drilling new holes. Now you can actuallyread my personalized tag ... and no more reflector !!
