I got a set off of e-Bay for ours. They work great, no difference in reception with either the radio or the CB. I think they were less than $20 with shipping.

J and M is a good buy. Pricey...but work fine. I have several friends who have purchased from John and all agree they are very satisfied.

You are looking at $40.00 a piece...but well worth in in performance and looks.

J&M antenna's cost more....but they're built to conform to the operational requirements of a CB antenna. The cheapies are just that - built cheap, they are NOT set up to operate a CB properly, and unless yer REAL lucky you CAN burn out the finals in the CB usin' 'em. Ah've run CB's since the 70's, an' used ta participate in contests ta see who could run the longest "skip" without boots - an' usually won, so yeah - ah unnerstand a tad 'bout 'em. Those that say "no difference" - ah'm sorry, but there IS a difference, an' one that is measurable - even w/the J&M shorties over the OEM. It's a function of the shorter antenna, an' nuthin' you kin do can change that. Use the cheapies at yer own risk - but KNOW that if ya toast yer CB, the MoCo is gonna deny the claim when they see the burned finals.

Likely not a good idea.<G> Had a 250 watt kicker on mah '96 Wing - used ta tick the other bikes off that they could hear me, but ah didn't hear them. The truckers loved it, though....

ORIGINAL: WI George

Got the J&M shorties, work very well - radio & CB. Only problem I run into is that the screws keep stripping out as I remove them every winter since I cover the bike. (The holes, not the screws). When I first bought them one of the screws would not even screw in but J&M sent me a replacement right away. Guess I will have to try a slightly larger screw if I want them to hold from now on. This is the only irritant for me as they do work very well!
Just cut two small holes in the cover. Then put the cover over the antennae without removing them. You can mark where to cut the holes by taking them off, putting the cover on as normal, then feeling for the antennae holes and markingthem with a pen. Unless you're really worried about rain, two small holes won't make much difference in protecting your bike. You could always put a piece of tape around the attenae hole to keep it water tight.
