I take it that is the "cruise control", so to speak? Or is that just part of the internal throttle cable? We'll need to get the proper cable for internally wiring the bars.
That's the throttle sensor (hence no cables)

Got ya!! Makes my cables seem easier to work with!!

L2R - you'll have to pick this sensor cable up for internal wiring if you still want to run the wires in the handlebar. I wonder if H-Dog will have it in stock?? We may have to push it off a week if you can't get it.

I'll go by the dealer tomorrow and check. I'm gonna go by my dad's place and mow his yard for him, since the doctor told him he can't because of the surgery. Then I'll swing by the dealer on the way home. I'll go ahead and probably pick up some wiring extensions also, just to be safe. Of course that's assuming the stuff isn't too expensive. I should be done by the time you get off work.

i just installed 16" apes on my RK took me 20 hours of labor ! I know I Know! just a little more involved than i anticipated, you should get yourself a service manual also take notes while disasembleing, there is good info here if you search for it. the idol sensore switch is on your idol cable only needed if you plan on running cruise control and the switch plugs X two are under the naccele you will need to unplug each pin total of 6 per plug if you plan on running them internaly and possibly solder extintions this is just a fraction of what your up for. unless your throttle, idle, brake and clutchcables are long enough you have these to contend with your clutch cable if short will need replaceing this envolves removal of the transmisioncable cover not as accessable as you think at least not the bottom two of six bolts. good luck you can do it.

Thanks for the help everyone. I'll talk to the dealer again tomorrow to make sure I have everything I need. I guess installin' the bars will be a learning experience.

Also, take a look at this site. It is not for the '08 model, but may help fill in the gaps of the link Dawg gave you. Have fun... http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/hhog/rkbarswap.pdf
