My Street Glide has the SERT, 2 into 1 pipe, SE air cleaner, dyno tuned and it gets 40 mpg average. On the highway it does much better in the 44 to 45 range. No gurgle or pop just solid harley rumble.

Great mileage. You must have a great tune. Let me ask you; after the mods did you notice more vibration throughout the bike. After I had my mods done it felt like a different bike. When I questioned the dealer he said it's the pipes that make it feel that way. Just trying to get confirmation.

No extra vibration the bike feels very solid. After I did the mods I got a lot more power and really great sound. I think the supertrapp pipe sounds great.

I run the hell out of my bike and I get about 35 to 37 when I take it easy on her I can go to work and back and easily have over a 1/4 of a tank left I live 81 miles away from my job. I get a little popping on decal but nothing to have a heart attack over. I would do what Bill take it back and complain. Also you shouldn't get no vibration from your bike at all.

 

I have not read through this whole thread so forgive me if this has already been covered. There is no way a properly tuned (SERT/DYNO and your mods) Harley with your mods should only be getting 29 mpg. The fuel average along with the way your bike is running tells me that the dyno tech did not properly tune your bike. Take it back to them and complain and then take it to another tuner if they won't make it right. I'm running a 95 ci motor with Rinehart True Duals and SE Air Cleaner and I'm getting 40 mpg. It all has to do with where they have your AFR set. You are burning too much gas in certain RPM ranges and not enough in others. That's the great thing about a SERT. You can control your fuel economy and still get great performance. You aren't getting either. It's not the SERT or your Mods causing you this problem. It's whoever tuned your bike.

Before the SERT I was running on a StageII download. When I had it tuned they did a run before the SERT was installed. The AFR was a flat 13.0, after the SERT the AFR is 13.7 across the board.
I do agree that the bike needs to be tuned again but what is your consensus on the AFR numbers I provided?

 

I'm not sure on your AFR numbers except that with the SERT you don't want it to be flat all the way across. You should be running different on low end than mid range and high end. That's the cool thing about a SERT. You get the gas when you need it and not as much when you don't need it. That's why you should be able to keep a good fuel average.
