I don't know if you're planning on going to Americade, but seeing as you're in Eastern PA, I figured I'd mention that they are going to be there. They'll put the seat on your bike and you can see if you like the position. I'm pretty sure they'll let you ride around on it too. They have a 10-day return policy and are very consumer friendly.

They are not in the Americade Tour Expo, though, which is actually better for you if you go. They will be about 3 miles south of Lake George near the intersections of Routes 9 and 149. Detailed directions are on their site. Just pull up and tell 'em what you want. No entrance fee to pay!

I have about 1,000 miles on the two-piece touring and I love it. I think the rider section dimensions are the same as the one-piece sport touring. I'm vertically challenged so I went with the 15-inch wide seat, not the the 17.

Thanks, guys.

Lake George isn't much of a ride for us, so I'm going to look into the Americade Expo.

On an 08, the Mustand will NOT work with the grab rail. Stock o8 saddles do, but not the Mustang...sorry.

THANKS! You just saved me a few hundred bucks!

My wife hated the strap as a passenger and I hated it because it made seat removal unnecessarily difficult, so I replaced it with the passenger grab rail a few weeks ago. It works fine with the stock '08 seat as you stated.

Why don't you ask him in a private message? Questions like these are what the PM function is for.

I assume you have tried it so you know for a fact that it doesn't fit.

That would be starnge on Mustangs part because it would then make it difficult for them to sell seats of the 08 Ultra since they come stock with the grab rail.

I would call Mustang just to be sure.

The passenger grab bar isn't a stock item on the 2008 models.

Here's its description from the H-D web site. Take note of the last sentence which I've highlighted.

Passenger Grab Rail

Add comfort and confidence for your riding companion. Chrome-plated Handrail provides a convenient hand grip for your passenger, and a secure tie-down point for pillion-mounted touring luggage.

91583-99

Fits '06-later Electra Glide®, Street Glide®, Road King® and Road Glide® models. Does not fit Touring models with Tour-Pak® mounted rear speakers, or models equipped with Leather Saddlebags. Original Equipment on '99-'05 FLHT, FLHTC and FLHTCU models.

Steve , I have the pre 08 version #75449 Regal Touring (plain) on my 06 FLHT.
The 76207 is the 08 version , http://www.mustangseats.com/roadking...king2008.shtml
A buddy of mine also has the 75449 and it's not suppose to work with the passenger grab rails , but it works fine on his 05 FLHT.
I really wanted to try one first , but I went on faith and ordered it anyway.
First impression was "it's like sitting on a brick".
But you know it really wasn't "uncomfortable" just really hard.
The Mustang site said it would take about 15 minutes each ride to form to your butt and get better.
My buddy said it gets better in about 500 miles.
Well , after 500 miles , it feels really good (but firm also).
The seat is much different than stock as I always felt like I was sliding forward on bumps and while braking with the stock seat.
The Mustang is the opposite , I feel like I'm set in the pocket while riding.
The nose is narrower , but I have to scootch forward at a stop to get to the front of the seat.
It feels like it's a good inch higher than stock with the same setback as stock.
The stocker felt like I dropped another inch after about 200-300 miles in a day.
The Mustang settles maybe a half inch throughout the day , but starts out higher.
The stock seat hugged my butt so hard , it couldn't breath and I'd get a rash on a hot day.
I don't expect the same with the Mustang.
I'm quite happy with my seat selection now.
Mick
