Gas Mileage

RE: Gas Mileage
If you don't have a fuel management system like the PCIII or SERT I can't imagine why you would be getting such low milage. If you did I would say it sounds like your running a rich map.
I get any where from 36-44 mpg with my setup of PCIII, BS a/c, Rush pipes. But 36 is doing a lot of city riding and getting on it hard at every light. Before the PCIII and a/c with just the dealer download I was getting 45+ mpg when it was running real lean.

RE: Gas Mileage
I really do not get how some of you can get around 45 mpg at 70-75mph. My 07 gets around 42-43 at 70-75 and 46-48 at 55-60. I thought my bike was doing good until I seen some of these posts. I can still beat a 1800 goldwing on mpg up to 80mph. I do not ride beyound that speed. If I plan riding past 80 mph I will be on my other bike so the BMW's and GW will only see the brake light.

I mentioned yesterday that I had taken my bike to the dealer. They told me there was nothing wrong. Are there different settings for the tuner (economy, performance). After reading some of the posts last night, I just can't believe that someare getting that type of mileage, with similar setups. I'm lucky to get 30 mpg consistantly.

RE: Gas Mileage
If all you get is 30 mpg I'd say you need to retune it. I have the same bike as you with stg 1 (basic download, no dyno) and I average 44 mpg. Thats riding 1 up and around 70 mph. I can do a little better or worse depending on how I ride. I did get 42 mpg, then installed fuelmoto's custom baffles in my slipon'sand the mpg jumped to 44. It's stayed there ever since...............

RE: Gas Mileage
We returned today from a 1000 mile tour of the "Hill Country" The bike ( stock 07 EGC)never saw below 40 mpg, and got as high as 46 mpg. It had my wife and I, plus a week of clothes in the tour pack luggage and T-bag Supreme, plus other stuff in the saddlebags. Every nook and cranny had something in it.It got 40 mpgon the twisties on FM 1431 from Ceder Park, TX to Mason, TX, where 6th gear was non-existant, 5th gear sometimes, 4th gear most of the time, 3rd gear at times. The best was from Huntsville, TX on US 190, to Ceder Park TX, 46 MPG.
Things that did not happen to the bike were:
Nothing vibrated loose
Nothing fell off
Low End didn't scissor and lock up
Transmission didn't break
No codes popped up
No oil leaked anywhere
The bike did everything it was designed to do; Provide and enjoyable, reliable, trouble free ride. It was money well spent.
