Default Detachable Tour Pak Locks

Anyone use these? The locks that replace the release device on detachable accesories. Looking at it, it almost appears you would have to remove the saddlebags to unlock. Any input?

On my bike it just clears the bottom of the tour pak. You do have to play with it a little to get the key to line up properly.

Some people bend the key in the middle to make it easier to use.

It took me a couple of tries to get it on right........start by throwing out the instruction and it will be less frustrating. For some reason my key has lots of room...i bought the bike used so i'm not sure of the detachable set up.

When I installed mine on my Electraglide it seems to me that the directions showed to install the lock on the right side looking at it from the rear. That didn't seem to work so I ended up installing the lock on the left side (looking at it from the rear). This means that I have to insert the key from the direction of the front of thetour pak toward the rear of the bike and the key just barely fits because the top of the key hits the bottom of the tour pak rack. Some people bend the key so it will clear. It's a little awkward but I figure it's better than worrying about some clown walking off with my tour pak.

Mine did not come with instructions, I put it on the left side and mine points out the rear of the bike and pleanty of room. I guess my latches are on backwards!

That is what I was wondering about, if they could be locked and unlocked without having to remove the saddlebags. Looks like I'll have to order a set, probably not a bad investment just in case.
Thanks guys!
