New front tire

New front tire
I was having the local dealer do my 15,000 mile service on my RKC and I needed a new front tire so I had them change it at the same time. I get my bike back and today I was washing and detailing my bike and I had the bike on a stand and as I was cleaning the front tire I noticed it was very hard to turn. I was turning the tire to clean the whitewalls and the spokes like I usually do and the wheel took a lot of effort to make turn. In the past with the original tire - the tire turned very easy with very little effort. Is the new tire being hard to turn something that I should be worried about - or will it free up over time? Any info and/or comments would be appreciated.

Check the torque on the axle nut.
It should be 50-55 ft-lbs.
I guess it's to tight.

RE: New front tire
Thanks for the input. I called the dealer and they offered to come and pick the bike up at my house and trailer it to the shop and fix it. The lead tech said he didn't want me riding it as it could possible do damage or worse yet the tire could lock up on me. This is why I will give my local Harley dealer all my service - they have great customer service.

should be no different than the old tire. Is it rubbing on the fender? did they install the correct size? Did they put it on correctly? Check to make sure spacers on correct. Take it back for a check. I did my own tires at 15,000 miles and their was no difference in the spin. Incidently I changed from stock dunlop to metzlers.

RE: New front tire
Last June a friend bought new tires for his RKC at an indie shop and when he got on the road a few days later (first ride) he noticed some vibration. 60 miles later when we arrive at the H-D dealer, he gets them to check his bike and the axle nuts were so tight they couldn't spin the wheels. The bearings had seized and he had to spend the $100 or so he had saved, plus a few hundred more. He decided to go back to the dealer from now on, and I pretty much feel the same way.
