Congrats on your new purchase! You sound like a man on a mission! Next thing you know you'll opting for the Ultra, the cream of the crop of HD tourers.
Actually if'n it was just me riding I would have loved one of them fancy new Street Glides.

Insane???...on the contrary. Buying a bagger is anaturalevolutionary adaptation that indicatesa higher level of sophistication and intelligent thought. Yourrecent step up the evolutionary ladder is supported by a long line of scientific theory and research. Its true that baggers ride much smoother than sporsters...thus you've protected your 'nads' from the harshness of in-delicate ride and so your testes are still functional...and possibly quite viable. If it wasn't for your somewhat advanced age your testes maystill be able to produce extremely potent and viable offspring...might want to get a vasectomy at this point.
Its quite common to see many more baggers on the road today than it was just 10 years ago...proof again that bagger riders are breeding at a much higher rate than sportster owners. Obviously bagger intelligence wins over more simple herding/gathering (sportster) cultures!

The moon's about full and I must be crazy. I hadn't ridden in 40 years, so last year at this time, I bought an 883 XLH Sportster for my 62nd birthday. Lasted about 2 months on that, sold it and bought a 2002 FXDL with thoughts of making it into a touring bike. Not a bad concept and it travels well, but it's not a tourer.
An hourago I just made a deal to trade the Lowrider + a little cash for a 2003 Road King Custom. The FXDL will have about 15k miles on it after I ride it to AZ and make the exchange for the King with 16k miles. And, yes, all the bikes are/were Vivid Black & Chrome.

Another convert, way to go! LOL
I do agree with the previous comment about a more sophisticated decision.
I just love seeing all the baggers out on the road these days.
We were just at a very large (and wild) rally here in Iowa and there were by far more baggers than anything else. We camped right across the path from, well let's just say, members of a VERY well known motorcycle "gang" / club. There had to be about 200 of them and we couldn't believe all the baggers at their camp. I guess gone are the days of the old wired together Dynas, Softails and choppers.
Even the "angels" are getting more sophisticated. LOL
