HD super cooler here, just did it a few months ago, seems fine but we only had one 98 degree day so far. takes about an hour without the proper tools, probably half hour with proper tools. Get a 7/16th inch allen socket befoe you start. Jagg also makes a cooler but I dont have any experience with tham, HD has internal theroal valve which is good for cold weather, only opens up when hot.

I'll be putting one on one of these days, a Jagg 10 row. I've run their coolers for years and always found them to be trouble free, good product

Get the Jagg 10 row vertical. Stay away from any cooler that mounts low, as they are a target for road debris.

Since the Ultra is a new machine for me, I am curious about this oil cooler thing. Have some of you had engine problems in hot weather without an oil cooler? Is there a temperature where the bike starts to cause problems? My 08 will shut down one cyclinder when idling in very hot weather......is this new to the 08 and if not does it help?

We plan on riding Route 66 either next year or the year after and could encounter some hot weather. Would I be better off with an oil cooler?
